These photos were taken in Kubah national park, sarawak (Malaysian Borneo):

The above was a large female, seen with a male during the night on a rotten tree.

The same individual as before, to show size (approx 5 cm). I have no idea of the species.

This one was less than 2cm. Again, I have no idea what species this was. (Blaberidae?)

At a first glance I didn't think this was a roach. It walked in a very un-roach like way. I wonder whether it was mimicing an ant or something..

More roaches to follow...

Hi,

the top two look like Morphna badia, the third is an epilamprine, the last is very exciting, its a Protagonista, I have a single immature female of this, its probably a new species, do you have the specimen?

cheers
Darren

Hi Darren, no, I dont have any of the amazing roaches I saw. They were all in protected areas, and I was just a tourist!

I saw a very similar looking individual from Bako national park, though i didnt get a decent photo from above..

There were quite a few of these, perhaps another Morphna sp?

Their nymphs were semi aquatic, seen moving around in and under the water in puddles on the forest floor... useful as it is very wet there!
