I recently started talking with someone about these. I did a little research, and found that they are indigenous to my town. A study was done about 15 miles from my house.
Soooo, I decided to try to find some. I planned a few excursions, all canceled due to weather. Then, today, I was splitting wood for my heater. Out fell an adult C. garcia! I have several logs in a plastic bin thawing out to dig through. Hopefully I will be able to find a decent colony or 2 to try to get a culture out of.

Did you ever find any others? I've had plenty of luck finding Parcoblatta species but never any Cryptocercus species. This spring I plan and checking my woods for some.
